Look for 517th PIR, FSSF and there we were some French Commandos too IIRC

You should have à look at the 517th site. You can find AAR of the battles they fought. Also a FMS gives the German view of the battle for Les Arcs. There are some Books too. I will have a look.

Books of interest:
" First airborne task force "that is mainly a very good painting guide but also gives general information about the campaigns.
" La libération de la Provence ", Gassend, Heimdal éditions. A good complement to the above. Its main focus is on the 148 res division, but it also includes testimonies about battles fought against paratroopers.
" Supercommando " à very book painting guide about 1st ssf.
