Section 8.3 defines how teams are targeted (and this explains the 4" rule).
Section 9.1 talks about firing, and how hits are split between any teams being targeted.

Bailing out with one less shock comes to mind? I.e. 2 shock for most vehicles. Minor note: you need to exceed the morale level of a vehicle to cause a bail-out.
